Under Secretary of State Maria Otero to Discuss the Open Government Partnership at JHU SAIS

Maria Otero, under secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights, will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Thursday, April 26 at 4:30 p.m.

Otero, also a SAIS graduate, will speak about "The Open Government Partnership: A Progress Report." At the State Department, she has taken a leading role in launching and steering the OGP, a new multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency and civic engagement.

SAIS also will host a live Webcast of the event accessible at www.sais-jhu.edu/ pressroom/live.html.

The event will be held in Room 500 of the school's Bernstein-Offit Building, 1717 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to the SAIS International Development Program at developmentroundtable@jhu.edu.
