Public Company Accounting Oversight Board Chairman William McDonough to Speak at JHU SAIS

William J. McDonough, chairman and chief executive officer of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), will speak at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on Tuesday, 11/22 at 12:30 p.m.

McDonough, who will retire from his PCAOB post by 11/30, will speak about "Lessons I Have Learned From 25 Years of Public Service." Prior to joining the oversight board in 06/2003, McDonough served 10 years as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The PCAOB is a private-sector, non-profit organization, created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, to oversee the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair and independent audit reports.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held in the Kenney Auditorium located on the first floor of the Nitze Building, 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to 202.663.5630 or saisdevelopment@jhu.edu.
